Pastor Terry Cano

Pastor Terry began in ministry traveling in The Tenth Coin, a deaf drama & music ministry, from 1983 to 1985. It was during this time that he met his wife, Marlena. They started serving in ministry together; traveling in separate teams and sharing the Gospel. Terry married Marlena in June 1985 in Jasonville, Indiana. They have 4 adult children, 2 daughters in love, and 4 grandchildren.
From 1985 to graduation in 1989 he attended West Coast Christian College that was located in Fresno, California. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude, in Pastoral Ministry.
After graduation he and his family moved to Soldotna, Alaska where he began serving as youth pastor for the Soldotna Church of God.
Following Soldotna, he and his family moved to Kenai, Alaska to the Kenai Church of God and served in various positions such as Worship Pastor, Sunday School Teacher, Mid-week Bible Study Teacher, Church Clerk, and Interim Pastor. During this time he also served as a Prison Chaplain for 9 years at Wildwood Maximum Security Correctional Center in Kenai.
In the summer of 1999, Terry was called to serve and pastor Blythe Church of God, located in Blythe, California; where he and his family would move to. After just 2 months, Terry was voted in as Blythe Ministerial Association President where he served the community as well as led area pastors to come together for two community wide worship services.
In 2001, he was asked again to relocate and serve as the pastor of Tulare Church of God in Tulare, California. During this time Terry served as a member of the Tulare Association of Churches which served the community through outreach programs and assistance.

From 2010 - 2017, Pastor Terry and his family moved to Poplar, California to pastor the Poplar Church of God. While serving there, he began working and serving with the Men & Women of Action - California as a volunteer, where he was later appointed to the position of state coordinator for California. MWOA provides many services to assist area “Church of God” churches and parsonages, including disaster relief efforts.

At the end of 2017, Pastor Terry and his wife moved to Clay City, Indiana where he was appointed to pastor Abundant Life Worship Center. He began serving January 1, 2018. He was also appointed as the state coordinator for the Indiana Men & Women of Action. Pastor Terry continues to serve his local community and the surrounding areas. He as well as local community members assisted in remodeling a home that now serves as A Place Called Hope, which assists women military veterans.

Pastor Terry received his ordination as Bishop in the Church of God on June 12, 2022.
